According to Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof, 11 of the requirements made by Sabah and Sarawak in relation to MA63 have been satisfied.
Among them are the transfer of regulatory authority over fuel source, the repeal of the Inland Revenue Board Act to appoint members of their state institutions as permanent members of the board, and the management of the two states ‘ court, among other things.
There were 29 expectations that were being discussed, according to local media reports that were made in advance.
According to Mr. Fadillah, who is from Sarawak and seats the MA63 technical committee, seven of these demands were resolved under Mr. Anwar’s management, three of which were resolved during Mr. Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s management, and one of which occurred during Muhyiddin Yassin’s premiership.
He, however, added that there were still other things that needed to be resolved, including state right over western shelves, oil nobility and cash payments for gas, stamp work as well as the share of national political seats among others.
However, Mr Anwar on Sep 16 said that the federal state is determined to boost the dignity of all states in Malaysia, especially those in remote, rural and poverty-stricken areas.
He expressed assurance that this can be achieved through cooperation, dialogue and collaboration between the federal and state governments, including those from Sabah and Sarawak.
” For Malaysia to achieve, whoever becomes prime minister, secretary or president must serve all Malay, regardless of the backdrop”, Mr Anwar was quoted as saying by Bernama.
He further urged Malay to enjoy its people’s global successes, regardless of race, culture, or church, citing recent victories by its Paralympics athletes at the recently-completed Games in Paris.
” We do not question their origins, ethnicity or religion. We are simply delighted that Malaysians won medals at the Paris Paralympics, which honors them. According to reports, Mr. Anwar claimed that this is the spirit we want to instill in us.
