A code of ethics and governance for artificial intelligence ( AI ) is being developed by the Malaysian Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation( MOSTI ) in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, representatives of government organizations, institutions of higher learning.
In a Facebook article on Tuesday, October 10, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation Chang Lih Kang stated that the code of ethics and management may serve as the foundation for AI legislation in the nation and was anticipated to be completed by the following year.
The government was also looking into the AI Act and the need to establish a legal platform, he continued.
The monitoring of the use of AI technology, which is a complex technology and the control and monitoring process involves various aspects such as technical, legal, ethical, policy, and standards, was raised this week in the Dewan Rakyat( Lower House of parliament ) & nbsp session.
The Seven Principles of Responsible AI, which serve as a roadmap for the creation of reliable and dependable AI that can further protect people’s freedom and privacy, are included in the National Artificial Intelligence Roadmap 2021 – 2025, according to him.
