Malaysia Chiak! food court at Northpoint City suspended for 2 weeks due to infestation

SINGAPORE: The licence associated with Malaysia Chiak! meals court at Northpoint City has been hanging for two weeks through Wednesday (Sep 21) due to infestation, the particular Singapore Food Company (SFA) said.

The licensee has also been fined S$800 after accumulating 12 demerit points in a year. It was given 6 demerit points every for two offences associated with failing to keep the particular premises free of infestation. SFA did not identify the kind of infestation.

A licensee who seem to accumulates 12 or more demerit points in just a year may have the licence suspended for a period of either 2 or four weeks, or maybe the licence may be terminated, said SFA.

The suspension from the food court’s license will run from Wednesday to Oct 4.

All food handlers working in the suspended premises will be required to re-attend and complete the Food Safety Training course Level 1 prior to they can resume work, said SFA.

The licensee can also be required to ensure that most food hygiene officers working in the hanging premises, if any kind of, re-attend and complete the Food Safety Program Level 3, additional the agency.

“SFA takes a severe view of these accidents and would like to remind food operators to observe good food and private hygiene practices at all times, and to engage just registered food handlers, ” it stated.

“SFA is not going to hesitate to take company action against anyone found to be in breach of the Environmental Public Health Act. ”

The agency also advised the public who come across poor hygiene practices in food establishments never to patronise such outlets and provide feedback to SFA.
