Malaysia authority accuses firm in child abuse probe of slavery

KUALA LUMPUR: &nbsp, Malaysia’s religious affairs authority on Thursday ( Nov 14 ) accused a conglomerate under investigation for child abuse and money laundering of deploying “elements of slavery” in the way it operates its businesses.

Nooh Gadot, a representative from the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs, cited this as one of the causes of GISB’s lessons and values being declared to be delinquent in his plea to Muslims to abstain from them.

More than 600 children were rescued by police in a September raid on Global Ikhwan Services and Business ( GISB), some of whom were found to have been abused.

They even arrested 415 persons, including the chief executive of GISB, his wife, and top figures of the business.

Nooh said in a speech on Thursday that GISB uses economic models with an element of slavery where supporters are obligated to serve freely and without pay.

Nooh claimed that the organization spread the idea that riches might be had on their rulers ‘ bodies when they wash their hair, beards, or other body parts.

” Any man who adheres to, believes in, teaches, spreads, techniques or becomes a disciple of those doctrines and beliefs may repent”, said Nooh.

This commission even suggests that federal and state government organizations support the rehabilitation of GISB supporters and provide appropriate funding for this endeavor.

A GISB representative did not immediately respond to an AFP request for comment, and the organization’s attorney could not be reached for comment.
