Malaysia and Qatar discuss bilateral issues, second Asean-GCC summit

Malaysia and Qatar discussed bilateral ties on Friday, as well as the upcoming Asean Gulf Cooperation Council ( GCC ) summit and the Asean-GCC-China Economic Summit.

The conversation was reportedly held during a kindness visit by Dr. Ahmad Hassen Al-Hammadi, the director general of the Qatari Foreign&nbsp, Ministry, to Foreign Minister Datuk Sari Mohamad Hasan, according to the Malaysian Foreign Ministry on its Facebook page. &nbsp,

According to the statement,” Both sides discussed on issues of mutual interest relating to regional and international development as well as the strengthening of diplomatic relations.” &nbsp,

Qatar is a member of the GCC, along with Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and, finally, the United Arab Emirates.

At the end of this quarter, Malaysia will host the 46th Asean Summit, the Next Asean-GCC Summit, and the first Asean-GCC-China Economic Summit. – Bernama
