Lower household electricity and gas tariffs from October to December

SINGAPORE: Lower energy costs will result in lower house energy and gasoline taxes for the October to December time. &nbsp,

National grid operator SP Group announced on Monday ( Sep 30 ) that the electricity tariff will drop by 2.6 % or 0.78 cent per kilowatt hour before Goods and Services Tax ( GST ). &nbsp,

This reduces the average monthly electricity bill for families who reside in Housing and Development Board ( HDB) four-room apartments by S$ 3 ( US$ 2.30 ) before GST. &nbsp,

The oil price before GST did likewise decrease&nbsp, by 0.45 pence per watt hours, from 23.42 cents per watt hour to 22.97 cents, said City Energy. &nbsp,

SP Group, which owns and operates Singapore’s electricity network, reviews the electricity tariffs every quarter based on guidelines set by the industry regulator, the Energy Market Authority ( EMA ).

City Energy even evaluates the oil prices in accordance with EMA’s recommendations.
