Logs worth B33m found in abandoned warehouse

In a warehouse in Phetchabun, representatives from the Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation discovered improper reports of wood for about 33 million baht.

30 Narra reports were discovered during a inventory raid, according to Panatchakorn Potibandit, chairman of the Forest Protection and Fire Control Office’s protective and suppression strategy system.

Nine were smuggled from the Phu Soi Dao National Park’s wood supply in the state of Uttaradit. According to Mr. Panatchakorn, officials also discovered 51 Cambodian oak logs, 59 Narra trees, and 50 pieces of Burma wood.

The 33 million baht worth of timber logs, according to officials, belonged to a forest group that kept them in the warehouse before smuggling them to neighboring nations.

According to Mr. Panatchakorn, police had received a statement from officers against the owner of the inventory.

A more detailed research is currently being conducted to find the gang’s members.

A forest group that cut Narra trees in Ban Huai Hin Fon of tambon Na Yang Klak in the Thep Sathit area earlier on Saturday had its den raided by officers from the Forest Resource Management Office in Chaiyaphum state.

They discovered five offenders. Only one person may be apprehended by the officers as they fled.

A Chaiyaphum resident named Saifon, 40, was discovered carrying an electric saw.

Police are currently investigating the financiers behind the forest crew after she was taken to Thep Sathit place.

Additionally, more than 60 sizable Narra files were processed by officials. According to police, the crew delivers the fraudulently obtained logs to international clients.
