SINGAPORE: The trial of former transport minister S Iswaran will begin on , Tuesday ( Sep 24 ), eight months after he was  , first charged with multiple offences including corruption.
The 62-year-old is the first , social office-holder in Singapore to been tried in court in nearly five decades.
Iswaran faces 35 charges, accused of obtaining more than S$ 400, 000 ( US$ 310, 000 ) worth of items during his time as a public servant.  , He has pleaded not guilty to all the expenses.
