Lee Hsien Yang’s actions will not distract government from focusing on Singaporeans’ core issues: PM Wong

STRENGTHENING SINGAPORE-UK Relationships

Mr. Wong said that he cannot talk for the British state because the story with Mr. Lee has strained relations between Singapore and the UK.

” But I met ( UK Prime Minister ) Keir Starmer at CHOGM ( Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting ), and we had a good conversation. We did n’t talk about this particular matter”, he said.

Mr. Wong’s second visit to Samoa since taking office as prime minister was last month at the Commonwealth conference.

With the UK, we are working in a corporate partnership. We have a lot of work to do in terms of cooperation, and we believe there will be chances to deepen our relationships, particularly as we mark 60 years of political relationships in the coming year, added Mr. Wong.
