A well-known lawyer who is accused of defrauding a Thai person of portion of a sizable win in the Euromillions lottery has demanded that investigators question him and press him, saying he feels miserable being followed around by police.  ,
It was Sittra Biabungkerd’s initial public appearance since the incident made Thai media headlines lately.
Apparently, the female won a 10-billion-baht Euromillions prize. She claims that Mr. Sittra cheated her out of a total of about 100 million ringgit.
” I am no hiding. Investigators were unable to reach me because I changed my telephone number after a news company reporter followed me and invaded my private at home. I have been at home and did not go abroad”, Mr Sittra said at the Crime Suppression Division ( CSD ) on Tuesday.
He had waited in vain for the authorities to call him in order to settle the dispute. After officers followed him to a convenience store on Monday evening, and on Tuesday night, police cars had been parked outside his home. He had suddenly left on Tuesday night and had gone there himself.  ,
He demanded to know when they would subject him so that he could provide his side of the story.
They refused to do so and left when I asked them to browse my house without a permit. I feel nervous, but I have come to fulfill interrogators to provide them information”, Mr Sittra said.
According to Mr Sittra, his defendant, 58-year-old Jatuporn Ubonlert, had gifted him 71 million ringgit as a favour. He claimed that the girl also requested that he move a total of 39 million ringgit to another person in exchange for arranging for a visit from a Chinese actor.  ,
Madame Oy is also known as MS Jatuporn.
Mr. Sittra claimed the girl had contacted her after she allegedly pressed “like” on an Instagram account that the actor claimed to get.
He claimed that the person invited him to come over for a year after keeping in touch with her for a year.
According to Mr Sittra, Ms Jatuporn had him move money in a modern currency to pay for the writer’s visit, which always came about.
When the “actor” immediately demanded a “fee” for his lieutenants, Mr Sittra said, he warned her she could be the victim of a fraud. Nevertheless, the girl had him exchange” the fee”.
The attorney also refuted the claims that he defrauded the girl of design fees. He claimed to have provided her with quotations and created designs for all of the assignments she had been given.
He denied leasing or pledged the Mercedes-Benz that the lady had purchased from him. The car was also registered in the person’s name, as its owner, Mr Sittra said.
Somchart Pinit-aksorn, Ms. Jatuporn’s attorney, claimed that his customer had met investigators at the Crime Suppression Division for a fourth time on Tuesday to provide additional information regarding the forgery case against Mr. Sittra and people.
According to Mr. Somchart, there were several volumes involved. They included 71 million baht for an net lottery job, 39 million baht to pay for a performance by a Chinese professional, 13 million baht for a Mercedes-Benz, 9 million baht for a hotel pattern and 3 million baht for the design of a home for Ms Jatuporn’s French partner.
Mr. Somchart claimed the Chinese artist had not been hired, and Ms. Jaturporn refuted Mr. Sittra’s say that the 71-million-baht was a favor.
In a 30-million-baht lottery ticket fraud event in Kanchanaburi county, Mr. Sittra previously made headlines by representing a retired policeman and filing a money-laundering accusation against a former federal police chief.
The largest Western lottery is Euromillions.  , According to the euromillions website the biggest prize to date is a €240 million jackpot ( approximtely 8.7 billion baht ) won on Dec 8, 2023 by an anonymous online punter in Austria. The next biggest prize was €230 million, won in the UK on July 19 2022.
