The victim was afterwards identified as 31-year-old Johnny Pizarro of A queen, according to an NYPD press release.
Pizarro, who was contracted to do parking enforcement for the production corporation, was sitting inside a car on North Henry Street within Greenpoint, Brooklyn when an unknown assailant apparently opened the vehicle’s door and fired a weapon, striking his neck and head at about five: 15 a. m. local time, according to NYPD Spokesperson Det. Sophia Mason.
The assailant ran off whilst emergency responders hurried the victim to some nearby hospital, where he could not be kept, Mason said.
Investigators are actually searching for the gunman and a motive, even canvassing surveillance footage in the area, Mason stated.
In a statement, NBC and Universal Television, which produces the series, said they were “terribly saddened and shocked to hear that certain of [their] crew people was the victim of the crime early this morning and has died consequently. ”
“We are working along with local law enforcement as they continue to investigate. Our own hearts go out to his family and friends and ask that you respect their privacy during this period, ” the declaration reads.
