On Tuesday ( July 9 ), Laos Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone will make his first official visit to Singapore.
Mr Siphandone was appointed perfect minister , in December 2023, after the government’s original head Phankham Viphavanh resigned citing health factors.  ,
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( MFA ) stated in a statement on Monday that his visit to Singapore is a 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
At Parliament House, Mr. Siphandone will be given a royal encouraged and will make a call to Tharman Shanmugaratnam, the president. He may also meet with Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong, the Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong, and who will host an official breakfast in his honor.
Both prime ministers will introduce the logo to honor the 50th anniversary of Singapore-Laos diplomatic ties at the formal luncheon.
Mr. Wong and Mr. Siphandone will also witness the signing of Memoranda of Understanding ( MOU) between Singapore and Laos in the areas of education cooperation and carbon credits, according to MFA.
Ministers and top Laos leaders may accompany Mr. Siphandone.
