According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone will travel to Thailand on Thursday to improve diplomatic ties between the two nations.

The Lao PM was officially invited to visit the country by Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra after the government announced on its site that the organized visit came after the ministry’s website. It would be Mr. Sonexay’s second official trip to Thailand since taking office as prime minister. Both events will examine ways to further strengthen diplomatic relationships in different areas, including industry, communication and people-people exchanges.

The officials will also focus on popular challenges, including cocaine, online frauds, human trafficking, PM2.5 waste and the management of shared water sources, according to the government.

His visit coincides with Thailand and Laos ‘ 75th anniversary of political connections beginning.

The Thai-Lao Business Forum is expected to be inaugurated in Bangkok by Mr. Sonexay. The Lao PM and his family will also have an market with Their Majesties the King and Queen during his visit.
