A 36-person fire at a well-known life studio was started, and the Chinese man admitted guilt.

One of Japan’s worst-ever crime cases involved the fire at the Kyoto Animation workshop on July 18, 2019.

32 more people were hurt, and many of those killed were fresh creators trapped on the second floor.

Shinji Aoba’s defense attorneys are requesting an indictment, citing emotional stupidity, while lawyers are likely to seek the death penalty.

Aoba allegedly accused Kyoto Animation of stealing his job, but the studio has denied this. His motivations are unknown.

Shinzo Abe, the prime minister of Japan at the time, referred to the strike as” too horrible for words” in 2019.

Aoba, 45, is accused of five crimes, including fire, crime, and attempted murder. He almost died from burns he himself received.

He is charged with breaking into the studio, lighting a fire in the ground floor with gasoline, and then yelling,” Fall dead!”

Shinji Aoba, who showed up in the Kyoto District Court on Tuesday in a chair, said,” I felt I had no choice but to do what I did.” ” I didn’t anticipate such a high death toll, and then I believe I went too much.”

The defense team for Aoba argued that even if he were found guilty, his sentence should be reduced due to his” state of diminished capacity ,” adding that the attack’s victim was delusional.

According to the prosecution, Aoba entered a battle run by Kyoto Animation because he mistakenly thought the company had plagiarized one of his novels.

However, they claimed that he was not under the influence of the alleged fantasies and was solely to blame for the assault.

According to Japan’s Kyodo News, around 500 people waited in line early on Tuesday night to watch the trial proceedings from just a few hundred seats in the courtroom.

Second January, a decision is anticipated.
