The ITA announced on Wednesday that Uzbek cyclist Aleksey Fomovskiy and Spanish mountain biker Ariana Evangelista have both been suspended following good tests.
On September 28, Fomovskiy, 22, placed second in the men’s announces track cycling final, and on September 22, he placed seventh.
On September 25, Evangelista, 27, was the last woman to complete the children’s mountain bicycle race.
The ITA stated that during an in-competition test conducted on the day of the announces final, Fomovskiy returned an” negative analytical finding for injectable androgenic steroids.”
Blood and urine samples taken in an out-of-competition test on September 24 yielded negative results for erythropoietin( EPO ) from Evangelista.
Although they did not compete in Hangzhou, Afghan boxer Mohammad Khaibar Nooristani and Saudi Arabian distance offset Yousef Mohammed Alasiri have both been suspended for failing testing.
The Anti-Doping Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport ( CAS ) has been consulted for decision under Olympic Council of Asia ( OCA) anti-doping rules, and all five who have failed drug tests may request analysis of their B-samples, according to the ITA.
The ITA conducts tests while competing.
Neither the OCA nor the organizing committee for the Hangzhou Games were able to reply right away.
