Kuala Lumpur International Airport shooting leaves one injured; Malaysian police launch manhunt for suspect

In a shooting incident at the Terminal 1 arrival hall of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA ) on Sunday morning ( April 14), one man was seriously hurt.

A man fired two shots, according to Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan, one of whom hit a native guard, with one of the bullets hitting a local person who was also a guard, at 1.30 am.

The suspect has been identified and the authorities have launched an investigation to find him, the suspect who is thought to had fled to the north, he said in a statement.

He said the&nbsp, tragedy originated from a private issue&nbsp, and is related to criminal activities or organizations.

According to him, “investigations revealed that the suspect intended to shoot his wife while she was awaiting the arrival of an Umrah party.” Umrah refers to a small journey that can be completed year-round.

The target sustained serious injuries from the capturing, he added.

The purpose of the event is still under spacecraft, with the situation being investigated as an&nbsp, attempted murder under&nbsp, part 307 of the Penal Code and the Firearms Act.
