Klatham wins by-election, takes seat from Bhumjaithai

Little group “pushes its feet” in Nakhon Si Thammarat

The Klatham Party is pleased that it won a by-election in Nakhon Si Thammarat on Sunday and has plans to increase their support for winning tickets in upcoming provincial elections.

Kongkiat Ketsobat, the election commission’s (EC ), announced on Sunday that Kongkiat Ketsobat had unofficially won the contest with 38, 680 votes. With 28, 417, his closest competitor was Bhumjaithai Party’s Sawai Lueangsinil, who had 28, 417. Nattakit Yuduang, a candidate for the People’s Party, came in third place with 6, 811 votes, trailing only Chinnaworn Booyakiat, a former Democrat Party member, who had 4, 190.

After EC authorization, the win may be established.

Chawang, Phipun, Na Bon, and Chang Klang regions are covered by Constituency 8. About 70 % of eligible voters cast their ballots on Sunday.

After Bhumjaithai MP Mukdawan Luengsinil was fired by the Criminal Court for voting purchase, the by-election was needed. She is currently serving a 10-year social restrictions.

Bhumjaithai unsuccessfully attempted to introduce her father to keep the chair. Mr. Kongkiat is Chinnaworn’s son-in-law, who lost to Democrats. The county has seen the initial success of the Klatham party.

Thamanat Prompow, the de facto leader of the Klatham group, said the party’s de facto win demonstrated how confident the electorate in Nakhon Si Thammarat is. He claimed that the victory would help the group establish its leadership in the county and increase its seat majority in the future.

The group’s chief assistant said,” I have set the base of Klatham around.”

In the 2023 public vote, the Democrats, Palang Pracharath, Bhumjaithai, and United Thai Nation Party shared 10 constuencies.
