Vacharaesorn Vivacharawongse, the second-eldest son of His Majesty the King, claims he is thrilled to be able to call himself a Thai resident because he just received his first-ever ID cards after living worldwide for nearly 30 years.
He arrived in Thailand on March 6 as a Thai national with a Thai passport.
Mr. Vacharaesorn, 42, who is renowned to Thais as” Than Aon,” applied for an ID cards at a local registration company in Nonthaburi before applying for a card and opening a bank account. In August, he made his second trip back to the nation.
” I’m delighted that I now have an ID cards and am recognized as a member of Thailand. In an exclusive interview with the Bangkok Post, Mr. Vacharaesorn claimed that something had been missing for the past 20 years.
On my ID cards, I’m shown as Mr. Vacharaesorn. I am glad of myself. I have made a living for myself through my own work, my compassion and my own understanding. This means, I gained more experience and strength”, he said.
When he asked how he felt upon his second return to Suvarnabhumi, he responded in a jovial manner:” I felt like prostrating myself on the floor to pay respect to my country. However, I had a better idea of it because that would have been too little.
” But at the moment, I had some feelings and emotions. I recently left the nation, and I have since gained a lot of practice. A nearby bond]with the land ] remains. I want to see changes, and I want to go and see the land that has remained in my memory, he said.
Why the attend?
Asked if he had any distinct purpose for his returning to Thailand, Mr Vacharaesorn said:” I just wanted to return to my country. This is how someone who left over 27 years back feels.
” I came around personally. No one told me to arrive. I am no representing people. I do n’t want to compete for anything … I have no resources, no power. I do n’t have aspirations beyond providing value in my own capacity”, he said.
He continued, saying that although many factors, including his profession, must be taken into account, he intends to relocate to Thailand and obtain permanent residency there.
Mr. Vacharaesorn claimed to have worked as a prosecutor in Florida and New York for 15 to 16 years. Currently, he works as a legal adviser, mainly on power problems.
He added,” I’m even considering starting a company that provides guidance to overseas investors and international businesses looking to invest in Thailand.”
” It’s merely a thought. He said that the prospect may determine whether it will or not.
Helping people
He is even eager to work in the civil service to assist clients with legal problems.
” But I will also have to consider whether the people who may work with me will feel at ease with me. Also, the laws in the US are distinct from those in Thailand”, he said.
” All should help community members, the people around us, and contribute to society. I am unable to say that I will be able to significantly influence community or significantly alter it. But at the very least, I can do great stuff for myself, for my neighbours and for my family. We had not behave beyond our limits. He said,” You already know how to help someone when you only help one person.”
He continued,” Thai people will have better access to justice under the law, social and economic justice, as well as flexibility and individual rights.”
I firmly believe in individual integrity and treat everyone I meet with kindness and understanding. In a divided society, he said,” I am open to hearing and understanding even ideas that are contrary to my own.”
” I likewise visited the Lawyers Council of Thailand. The volunteer attorneys who assist clients with their constitutional problems made me very proud.
” Some people who were in trouble waited there for legal counsel. Among them was a artistically- impaired and vulnerable grandmother. She was in tears, and I offered to ease her.
Consequently, I thought I may do whatever I could to help raise money to help the charity doctors it, he said.
Quizzed if he is willing to do a career in politics, he said:” Absolutely not. Politics is terrible. I have to remain cautious. I wo n’t meet any politicians because I do n’t want to be seen as taking sides or as somebody’s tool”.
Touring Thailand
On his first journey in August, he stayed in Thailand for 10 weeks, on his second trip in December, he stayed about 14 days.
On this present attend, he plans to stay until after Songkran.
” I have to schedule each visit in advance. He said,” I have a job to take care of in the US, so I ca n’t stay in Thailand for long.”
During the latest journey, he said he visited Siam Paragon and several other areas, such as the Nonthaburi river and other regions like Khon Kaen, Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Sawan, as well as Chiang Mai.
I also had the chance to recite a poem to the Phra That Phanom tower in Nakhon Phanom and participate in a singing performance it. I was impressed”, he said.
He also mentioned that he also had the opportunity to sample street food in Chinatown on Yaowarat Road and that his favorite Thai dishes include pak bung fai daeng ( stir-fried morning glory ) and khana moo krob ( Chinese broccoli stir-fried with crispy pork belly ).
During trips to the regions in the Northeast, like as Khon Kaen, he likewise sampled meals made using insect eggs.
” It was very tasty … and expensive, costing up to 1, 000 baht per kilogramme”, he said.
” During my three trips here, I still have n’t had the chance to visit any seaside provinces. I plan to go to the South, even Phangnga, Krabi and Phuket, which all are known to possess wonderful beaches”, he said.
He added that as he once practiced Thai fighting, he also wanted to purchase a pair of Muay Thai clothes.
Asian in America
Additionally, Mr. Vacharaesorn recalled his experience as an Eastern person living in the United States, where no one knows who he is.
” I had to be calm and persevere.” That’s a lifestyle knowledge and it makes me realize some better”, he said.
After arriving in the US, he even recalls his first career selling hot dogs at a monitor. Additionally, he distributed superior vacuum cleaners door to door. The vacuum cleaners cost US$ 3, 000 ( 108, 000 baht ) each and he received a commission of$ 500 for each sale, he said. ” I sold three of them and received$ 1, 500 in commission.
In my 27 times living in the United States, I have created a lifestyle for myself. Although my personal life is still being questioned and speculative, it is unrelated to my pursuits in Thailand.
” As a private citizen, I am entitled to a semblance of peace and protection in my private life”, he said.
The” Bangkok Post” editorial staff greets Mr. Vacharaesorn.
Well the King’s 2nd child is up, and tells us why
Arriving at the’ Bangkok Post ‘ building in the afternoon, Vacharaesorn” Than Infosys” Vivacharawongse, the next youngest son of His Majesty the King, pulled up in a smooth black van accompanied by 2- 3 personal cars. He stepped out of the car, his teeth dazzling the field, and made his way into the Bangkok Post with a small group of close friends and neighbors by his side as he made his way out.
All present at the time recognized that the Bangkok Post was his first media shop in three years of returning to Thailand. Once outside, he sought not only to indulge in everyday conversation but also to get a glance at the editorial department’s workings.
After 27 times away from Thailand, this is the first day he has returned under a Thai passport. He added that he is also quite pleased and delighted that his Thai identification cards is now available. Than Aon stated that he is deeply intrigued by the government’s profound change and wishes to live here again, but that will depend on many things, particularly his career goals. He has always envisioned himself playing a significant role in assisting international investors drawn to Thailand and the area as a prosecutor and legal advisor in the United States.
His returning from Thailand after a nearly three-decade lack may undoubtedly raise questions about his motivations, but he stated that his only intention was to see his country once more, experience the country’s changes, and travel throughout the kingdom without any particular agenda.
Thailand’s food, social traditions, and eco- tourism industry are among Than Aon’s interests and passions when he stays in the Kingdom. He even intends to travel to the southern region’s shores because he has previously visited all of the country’s famous seaside resorts.
