Female says Nigerian spouse paid her to bring the drugs

SA KAEO- A Thai lady was arrested and 6 kilos of seized methamphetamine seized as she re-entered Thailand from Cambodia through the Aranyaprathet emigration station on Tuesday night.

Chamaiporn Singthong, 30, was caught at the station by visual identification technology. She was identified as a wanted think in a pharmaceutical case, Sa Kaeo municipal immigration department director Pol Col Naphatpong Suphaporn said.

She admitted to being that people and was detained for a research and further research, he said.

In her backpack, officers found 656 little packages of cocaine inside four big rag dolls. There was at least 6 kilos in full, for about 16 million rmb, Pol Col Naphatthapong said.

Msc Chamaiporn allegedly told authorities her Nigerian partner was paying her 100,000 baht to bring the medication. She had taken a trip from Qatar to Phnom Penh, and therefore public transportation to Poipet, where she crossed the border into this eastern state.

The suspect reportedly said there were two other people involved in the smuggling activity. One was her father. The medicines were destined for the Bangkok area, to get sold in entertainment venues for 2,500 baht per ounce.

Pol Col Naphatthapong said it was the biggest for imprisonment at the Aranyaprathet station. The situation had been passed to Narcotics Board Region 2 soldiers for trial.

The analysis was being expanded, he said.  

Thirteen people were arrested in Bangkok’s Phra Khanong city over the weekend   for selling heroin   to travellers along Sukhumvit Road- 11 were from countries in Africa, including Nigeria, and two were Thais.
