Questionable species
The American Bully was developed as a partner dog and was recognized as a species by the American Bully Kennel Club in 2004.
The breed is renowned for having a strong bit force, which is more effective than that of a pit bull but comparable to that of a Rottweiler. There are four different kinds of jerk dogs in America, with the XL being the largest and strongest.
Th XL bully has been specifically questionable. Following a series of high-profile maulings and a common uproar, a ban was issued in England and Wales last year, and it became effective in January of this year.
Following a deadly assault on a girl and the beating of a nine-year-old boy, which left him with severe physical injuries, Ireland is also banning the XL drunk, according to a minister who spoke to the media this month.
From Oct 1, it will be improper to buy, type or re-sell the XL bully type in Ireland. Existing users will have to sterilize their dogs in order to receive a certificate of provision in order to keep them.
