Justice sought for teens killed in collision

Umphang assistant district chief was the one who drove the pickup that struck the teenager’s motorcycle.

After two youngsters died in a traffic accident they blamed on a lieutenant district chief, more than 50 people of Umphang community in Tak state gathered at a nearby police stop on Saturday to require justice.

When a charcoal Toyota pickup vehicle driven by a person referred to as Pimnara, the assistant district chief, collided with a scooter that three teenagers were riding on Friday night, identified as Ekapop and Worakan, both 17 and Kanida, both 16 years old.

Worakan and Kanida were seriously wounded and taken to the hospital, while Ekapop passed away. Worakan eventually succumbed to accidents.

On the Mae Sot-Umphang Road, where poor light may have caused the incident, Ms. Pimnara was driving, according to authorities.

Due to the vehicle’s state position, Umphang residents expressed worry that the situation might not be handled pretty. Additionally, they demand that she undergo a blood alcohol check.
