Julapun Amornvivat, the vice finance minister, reported on Monday that he and the Council of State had discussed a draft bill for included entertainment compounds that would include a casino with the Finance Ministry.
He stated that the House will likely take the costs into consideration during this treatment.
Mr. Julapun said he had spoken with the Council of State’s special council about the draft bill’s specifics last Thursday.
” It was great. They gave me some useful thoughts, especially their opinions on the law”, he said.
Mr Julapun said he told them that the principle and guidelines of establishing leisure complexes integrates many types of businesses, including casinos, to attract investment, increase tourism, increase visitor spending in Thailand, employment and help manage illegal gambling activities.
Additionally, he claimed that whenever there are additional meetings to discuss the document laws, representatives from the executive branch may attend the Council of State.
Suksit Srichomkwan and Chattarin Chanhom, the prime minister’s two lieutenant secretaries, have been commissioned to attend all meetings to make sure the principles and perception of the leisure complexes are upheld, he said.
He noted that some media outlets and members of the general public incorrectly compared the initiative to conventional gambling facilities or casinos in neighboring nations. According to him, Thailand’s leisure complexes are influenced by versions like those found in Singapore and the United States, aiming to draw expense and offer as a turning place for the country’s economic growth.
In terms of Thailand’s economic trajectory, 30 years ago, growth averaged 10 %, 20 years ago, it dropped to 5 %, while over the past decade, growth averaged just 2 %, he said. Given these trends, the government aims to boost growth to 2.7–2.8 % and achieve a sustainable 5 % average. He predicted that the enjoyment compounds will be a significant financial vehicle.
When asked about opposition, which was revealed in a study by the National Institute of Development Administration, Mr. Julapun claimed that 80 % of the people had already voted in favor of the job. He urged the media to make a distinction between online gaming and entertainment compounds.
