Los Angeles Superior Court Determine Mel Red Recana made the ruling earlier this week, credit reporting an award that were decided by an arbitrator last year. CNN has obtained the court documents.
Spacey plus MRC have been combating in the years because the actor was dismissed from the production over allegations of wrong doings on and off the arranged.
Spacey starred as Honest Underwood on the Emmy-winning show, and MRC claims that needing to cut him from the sixth season from the show cost them millions of dollars and “rendered him (and his affiliated entities) liable. ”
Spacey was terminated from the TV show the morning after CNN published the report in 2017, in which several current plus former members from the “House of Cards” production staff arrived forward with accusations of sexual harassment. One person also accused Spacey, who was a good executive producer over the series, of sexual assault.
Shortly before CNN’s report, actor Anthony Rapp informed BuzzFeed News that the actor made a sexual advance towards him at a party in 1986 whenever he was fourteen years old. MRC says it halted the availability “to address any concerns of the show’s cast and crew” in wake of the allegations, according to a 2021 filing and previously reported by CNN.
Following Rapp’s claims, Spacey issued a statement declaring he did not remember the incident and apologized for exactly what he said might have been “deeply inappropriate drunken behavior. ”
The particular Oscar winner can be facing a criminal test in London next year after being accused of sexually assaulting three guys between 2005 and 2013. Spacey pleaded simple in July .
CNN has provided to Spacey’s attorneys for comment.
