Jeanette Aw’s makeup artist, Elain Lim, creates paintings from expired makeup

Ironically, Lim’s first painting done using expired makeup was of Kim Proceed- eun, her iconic actress and the adult lead of the K- drama, Goblin: The Lonely and Great God.

In truth, she merely paints portraits, and generally of women’s faces.

But has being a create- up performer helped?

Lim acknowledged that because she is well-versed in eyes, she is naturally drawn to them. ” Maybe it’s because I paint children’s heads with beauty as a create- up artist, it’s easier for me to do the eyelashes or increase hair on the head. Many portrait painters have bad tresses, which I’ve seen. It usually looks very tough and harsh”, she shared.

Although the 51-year-old also mentioned that painting has had an impact on her approach to makeup, seeing distinct color combinations in new light and artwork daily has helped her hands be more steady while applying makeup.

It also helps me take a step back and examine the overall image, something I did n’t do as a makeup artist because I was always focused on the in-between.

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT AND COLOURFUL&nbsp,

Despite Lim’s artwork voyage being less than a decade, she’s now made excellent success.

Not only has she organized two events, the first of which was held on her own in 2017 and the next, which took place during the pandemic in 2021, but also that Art Busan has also housed her functions.

When Lim’s daughter, a independent art director in 2017, contacted her about bringing craft works to South Korea for Art Busan, she was given the chance. She contacted me to give her one of me so she could include it in the mixture, so I did.
