Japan’s ruling party headquarters attacked with firebombs, suspect arrested: Reports

Tokyo, according to public broadcaster NHK and other Japanese media reports that a man threw several firebombs into the ruling party’s headquarters on Saturday ( October 19 ). There were no accounts of accidents.

Tokyo officers declined to comment, noting the issue was still under investigation. The gentleman, arrested on the spot, had driven his car into local landscaping, the news reports said. His attack’s motivations were not promptly known.

Due to a ballooning money scandal involving allegedly dubious funding and tax evasion, the ruling Liberal Democratic Party ( LDP ) is becoming less popular with the general public.

The group declined to comment on Saturday’s strike, referring all answers to the police.

Oct. 27 is the deadline for the lower house of Parliament to vote. Some corrupt officials no longer have the party’s support, and instead are running as politicians.

The group just chose a novel innovator, Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, hoping to provide a new picture. However, surveys indicate that its popularity is declining, though it’s still uncertain whether they will lose control of the lower house in the future election given the dispersed criticism.

Some individuals have been heckled, which is fairly rare in Asian culture.

Over the past few years, the Progressive Democrats have been in nearly constant control of Japan. They are credited with helping Japan recover from World War II’s devastating earthquakes and become an economic superpower.

Shinzo Abe, the then-Prime Minister, was killed in a statement for a ruling party candidate in a parliamentary election in 2022.

The criminal claimed he disliked Abe because his family gave the entire family money to the Unification Church and that he was affiliated with that church by using a decorative weapons. Some members of the ruling party’s officials are still in contact with these individuals.
