Japan begins twin probes into rare Tokyo runway collision

TOKYO: According to the media, police were also looking into potential professional negligence in the case. On Wednesday ( Jan 3 ), Japan’s transport authorities started inspecting the charred remains of a passenger jet and an airport coast guard plane that collided at the airport in Tokyo.

Following Tuesday’s crash with a De Havilland Dash- 8 Coast Guard turboprop shortly after landing at Haneda airport, the Airbus A350 erupted in flames, saving the lives of all 379 passengers on board the airline, Japan&nbsp, Airlines ( JAL ).

However, five of the six Coast Guard members who were responding to a significant disaster on the east coast perished, and the commander, who managed to escape the debris, suffered serious injuries.

According to aviation experts, collisions, which were once a frequent health issue, are now much less common thanks to contemporary surface tracking systems and procedures.

According to Chinese regulators, the crash’s cause is unknown.

According to those with knowledge of the situation, organizations in France, where the Airbus airplane was built, and Britain, which produced its two Rolls-Royce engines, are participating in the investigation by The&nbsp, Japan, Safety Transport Board (JTSB ).

According to the Kyodo news agency, the JTSB has recovered aircraft and voice cameras from the coast guard plane.
