Election officials quizzed controversial attorney Sittra Biabungkerd on Wednesday over her alleged campaign contributions to the Senate despite her incompetent campaign contributions.

Samut Sakhon municipal election officials questioned Mr. Sittra while he was being held in the Bangkok Remand Prison on suspicion of scam.

The election commission reportedly requested from the municipal election office that Mr. Sittra not have been performing social security work for at least ten years, one of the requirements for a candidate to run for the Senate, according to Phongphat Saichangthong, chairman of the municipal election office.

Mr Sittra, a tribal of Krathum Baen city of Samut Sakhon, contested both the in- and inter-professional shells in the Senate elections between June 9-26.

He entered Group 17, which was intended for legal experts and attorneys.

Although the attorney was not elected, he did finish fifth on Group 17’s supply list.

Mr. Phongphat claimed that since they had no idea when Mr. Sittra would be released or accessible for questioning, the poll company decided to interview him at the prison on Wednesday.
