Jail for woman who poured soy sauce on maid, threw chilli at her

SINGAPORE: A girl dumped an full bottle of soya sauce over the helper’s head after being frustrated with her lady’s work. &nbsp,

Noorwahidah Johari, 42, even threw pepper at victim, 33-year-old Indonesian Putri Rizki Amelia, and twisted her remaining ear. &nbsp,

Noorwahidah, a permanent resident of Singapore, pleaded guilty to two counts of using criminal force and one count of voluntarily inflicting harm on Thursday ( Mar 6 ) and received a four-week jail term. &nbsp,

The other four expenses were taken into account when she was sentenced. These include throwing a box of trash, a cup of water, and bread at Putri and swinging a shoe at her by Noorwahidah. &nbsp,

Putri was hired by Noorwahidah’s father in March 2023 to work in the house. &nbsp,

Noorwahidah inquired on September 28th, 2012, why the soya sauce drink wasn’t in the refrigerator. She claimed that for the previous two and a half months, she had frequently reminded Putri to keep the container to no avail. &nbsp,

The assistant claimed that the soy sauce drink was typically kept on the kitchen table and that it was also great for the refrigerator. Noorwahidah, Angered, and the victim’s victim opened the bottle and slammed half of its articles against the mind. &nbsp,

Putri then asked Noorwahidah to dip the entire container over her head, and Noorwahidah obliged. &nbsp,

Noorwahidah requested Putri to reduce pepper and reduce the seeds in September of that year. Noorwahidah rejected the chili when she discovered there were grains inside, and instructed the companion to clean it once more. &nbsp,

Noorwahidah became upset when the chili returned because there were still seeds. The pepper was threw and hit the defendant’s eyes. That night, Putri’s eyes became annoyed. &nbsp,

Noorwahidah reacted at Putri in October 2023 after discovering an unpleasant smell on her sofa when she returned home.

She had instructed Putri to position a plastic mat on the couch to stop her mother’s blood from dripping the area.

Putri claimed she had washed the couch after the child urinated that night, but Noorwahidah maintained that the odor of blood was also present. Noorwahidah was now incensed when Putri attempted to clean the couch once more.

She remarked that the caretaker could never afford the pricey mattress by grabbing Putri’s left ear and twisting it. &nbsp,

On October 9, 2023, Putri reported to the police that she had been instructed to sleep in the house since morning two of her career. &nbsp,

Noorwahidah threatened to make her pay S$ 2, 000 ( US$ 1, 500 ) if she reported the incidents to the Ministry of Manpower, adding that the latter had been verbally and physically abusive toward her.

Noorwahidah, who had levied a “pattern of victimization” on the target, was wanted for five to nine months in prison, according to the trial. &nbsp,

Noorwahidah’s attorney Noelle Teoh noted that the occurrences were small and that there had not been any strong physical touch. She continued,” The victim did not sustain any long-lasting wounds.” &nbsp,

According to Ms. Teoh, the person’s actions resulted from her anger and dissatisfaction with Putri’s work and her failure to follow her instructions. &nbsp,

Ms. Teoh expressed regret over her client’s behavior. She admittedly lost command of her attitude in this instance. The events were unusual. &nbsp,

Her younger children and elderly relatives depend on her, according to the attorney, and a lengthy prison sentence will have an impact on the children.
