Investment dispute ends in hotel cyanide tea party

A 56-year-old Taiwanese person with US citizenship is accused of poisoning five fellow citizens at a luxury hotel in Bangkok to settle a financial dispute.

Pol Maj Gen Nopasilp Poonsawat, deputy director of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, on Wednesday identified the suspect as Vietnam-born Sherine Chong.

When her reported patients arrived on Monday, hotel staff claimed she had been waiting only in place 502 on the second floor of the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel.

She had previously requested tea and food from room services. She refused the&nbsp, place assistant’s offer to drink the drink for her in the room, saying she would make it herself.

The five different Vietnamese were captured on surveillance camera accosting them at the room with their baggage. Since 2.17pm on Monday, no one had left the room. On Tuesday night a maid&nbsp, found their systems in the room. Chong was among them.

The suspect had invited the various five people to make investments in building initiatives, according to Pol Maj Gen Nopasilp. A few reportedly invested the equivalent of 10 million ringgit in a Japanese hospital job. When there was no improvement in the tasks, they had taken lawful action.

In two months, the six were scheduled to appear in court. Chong invited the five to match for out-of-court conversations. They intially planned to move to&nbsp, Japan, but could not satisfy there because of immigration problems. Therefore, they turned to Bangkok.

They arrived in Bangkok at various times, sharing different areas at the 5-star resort in the city’s industrial and political district.

The five Asian left at noon on Monday, but Chong still had space 502 and had them return for a second round of discussions. She had&nbsp, ordered meals and drink for all.

The six used vases found in the motel room, according to Pol Maj Gen Nopasilp, contained poison waste. The cause of the poison would be determined by law enforcement.

Cyanide was likewise discovered in tea bags taken from the area, according to police forensic scientist Pol Lt Gen Trairong Phiewphan.

Chong’s reported victims were identified as Dang Hung Van, 55, Tran Dinh Phu, 37, Nguyen Thi Phuong, 46, and a pair- Nguyen Thi Phuong Lan, 47, and Pham Hong Thanh, 49.
