JAKARTA: The son of Indonesian President Joko Widodo visited the nation’s anti-corruption agency on Tuesday ( Sep 17 ) to explain his recent use of a private jet. He later told reporters that he denies all allegations of misconduct.
The beautiful lives of the government’s youngest brother Kaesang Pangarep, when shared by his family in social media posts, has just sparked anger in Indonesia.
However, Kaesang downplayed the outcry on Tuesday.
” I hitchhiked on the planes of my friend”, he said, after freely meeting anti-graft authorities. ” I came around not because of an offer, or being summoned but of my own action”.
Following widespread protests against a proposed legislation that would have allowed Kaesang, 29, to run in future local elections, Kaesang and his wife made the announcement of their trip to the United States last month.
Following the pushback, the legislature retracted the program.
