Indonesia stops taking job orders for migrant workers in all sectors

PETALING JAYA: Indonesia has stopped getting new job purchases for migrant workers in all sectors at the moment, says its envoy.

“We possess temporarily stopped the intake of new job purchases (for Indonesian workers).

“However, job orders that have been approved can proceed, ” Ambassador Hermono ( pic ) said whenever contacted on Wed (July 13).

According to an industry source, one probable reason was the use of Cara Maid Online (SMO) that was not said to be applicable to Indonesian domestic workers following a memorandum of knowing (MOU) signed within April.

Upon April 1, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan plus Indonesia’s Manpower Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) Ida Fauziyah signed the MOU in Jakarta on the Work and Protection associated with Indonesian Domestic Employees.

Under the MOU, the republic needs its recruitment to be only done by means of what it calls a single Channel System (OCS).

The OCS was agreed upon within the memorandum to screen employers and ensure that will only those qualified could hire Indonesian domestic workers at a minimum monthly salary associated with RM1, 500.
