JAKARTA: According to its geological company, Indonesia has raised Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki’s alert level to the highest level after it erupted eight days over the weekend.
Lewotobi Laki-laki, which is situated on Flores island in eastern Indonesia, spewed volcanic ash on Sunday ( May 18 ), according to Muhammad Wafid, the agency’s head, in a statement late on Sunday.
According to his analysis,” we raised the status degree starting on Sunday at 8pm because the Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki’s activities are also great.”
The agency shared pictures of heavy, grey dust blowing from the volcano. The closest tracking post audible buzzing sounds of low to high intensity during the eruption, Wafid continued.
The mountain erupted once more on Monday morning, spewing charcoal clouds measuring 1.2 kilometers high.
