TAGULANDANG : Indonesian authorities were on alert on Friday ( Apr 19 ) for additional eruptions from a remote island volcano, which caused thousands of people to flee this week as nearby residents began clearing debris after molten rocks poured down on their villages.
Beginning later on Tuesday, the volcano’s eruption erupted roughly twice in the first half of the day, causing a combination of flaming orange lava, a towering ash column, and geological lightning.
Authorities maintained the highest call level of a four-tiered method, which indicates large volcanic exercise, even though Ruang had said it had started to quiet down on Friday.
According to an AFP blogger, hundreds of residents of Tagulandang area were seen on Friday morning cleaning up geological materials from the harbor and their yards with the assistance of soldiers and police officers.
Some people described the eruption’s initial despair and rush to health.
” I evacuated. There was a property. I stayed it. Therefore it rained and mountains fell. I prayed’ God have mercy, please help me God’,” Ninice Hoata, a 59-year-old instructor, told AFP on Tagulandang.
White smoke of “medium to high intensity” was seen billowing up to 100m above the crater, Abdul Muhari, the national disaster mitigation agency ( BNPB) spokesman said in a statement.
Other people pleaded for more help.
” We definitely need canvas help as soon as possible, to briefly cover the leaking roof,” said Herman Sahoa, a 64-year-old Tagulandang citizen.
We are concerned that a follow-up may be conducted because there is information on that. “
