India’s  , India deployed four ships and two aircraft on Tuesday ( Sep 3 ) to search for three missing coast guard personnel after their helicopter crashed into the Arabian Sea during a rescue mission.
Late on Monday, the coast guard aircraft was trying to save a staff member who had been injured on an Indian-flagged ship about 45 kilometers off the coast of Gujarat, India’s northern state.
The Indian Coast Guard stated in a statement that the plane had to make an emergency difficult landing and plunged into the sea.
” One staff member recovered, the research for the remaining three team members is in development”.
The wreckage of the aircraft had been found, it added.
After a series of fatal flash floods caused by heavy monsoon rains swept across Gujarat in late August, the helicopter crew had just been deployed inland to help dozens of stranded people. At least 28 people were killed.
