India says its troops exchanged gunfire with Pakistan

For a fifth consecutive night, Indian and Pakistani soldiers exchange gunfire in disputed Kashmir, according to New Delhi’s army on Tuesday ( Apr 29 ), one week after an attack aimed at tourists put relations in a snag.

The American military claimed that its troops and Pakistani forces fired at one another immediately along the Line of Control, the of post border in disputed Kashmir, a densely fortified area of high-altitude Himalayan troops.

Pakistan’s response was not immediately forthcoming.

After India accused Pakistan of backing the most recent civilian strike in Indian-administered Kashmir on April 22, which resulted in the death of 26 people, relations between the nuclear-armed neighbors have deteriorated.

Both nations have since exchanged gunshots in Kashmir, political thorns, expelled citizens, and ordered the borders shut, and Islamabad has refuted the cost.

India claimed that the” Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked small hands firing across the Line of Control” from Monday through Tuesday, citing gunfire that occurred in areas close to the Kupwara and Baramulla towns as well as in the Akhnoor market.

The American military claimed that the provocation’s forces “reached a measured and powerful response.” There were no fatalities reported.

India has stated that Tuesday is the departure date for Pakistanis.

Experts worry that inflammatory remarks could lead to military actions.
