India kills three suspected militants in Kashmir as Pakistan ceasefire holds

The army claimed that this was the first incident to occur in India and Pakistan since an assault on travellers brought India and Pakistan to the brink of war on May 13 in a gunfight with troops in the Indian-administered Kashmir.

According to the army, the particular counter-insurgency power learned that militants were hiding in Keller jungle in the southern Kashmir valley when the army began the conflict.

The site is about 65 kilometers from Pahalgam, where insurgents last month killed 26 people, largely Hindu men, in the worst fighting between India and Pakistan since 1999.

The American military said on X that a” search and destroy Procedure” was launched, which caused a conflict.

” Terrorists opened large fire during the activity, and fierce shootout ensued, which resulted in the removal of three hardcore terrorists,” it said.

India accused Pakistan of supporting the “terrorists” it claimed were to blame for the harm in Pahalgam, which Islamabad refuted, and last week launched rockets at locations it claimed were hosting extremists in Pakistan.

Following four days of tit-for-tat plane fighter, aircraft, missile, and ordnance attacks, they finally agreed to a ceasefire on Saturday, which President Donald Trump claimed was negotiated by Washington.
