The Bill may increase transparency for more than a dozen effective Waqf boards, which regulate properties given by Muslim generous endowments, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s authorities.
There are roughly two hundred Waqf board scattered throughout India, each with a multi-billion-dollar property empire worth 365, 000 acres, making them one of the biggest landowners in the country along with the railways and the defense forces.
The Bill will be fought against corruption and incompetence, according to Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju, who presented it on Wednesday.
