India and Pakistan trade accusations of nuclear arsenal mismanagement

India and Pakistan were accused of failing to maintain nuclear weapons by one country on Thursday ( 15 May ), urging the world to watch their neighbor’s arsenal just days after their most egregious military conflict in 20 years.

Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh claimed that the UN’s nuclear company may be monitoring Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal, while Islamabad claimed that the world community should look into a “black market” in India. &nbsp,

The most recent conflict between India and Pakistan had sparked worldwide concerns that it might turn into a full-fledged discord before a ceasefire was agreed on Saturday.

” I wanted to ask the universe the question: Are nuclear arms secure in the hands of a reckless and rogue region”? Singh addressed soldiers at a military post in Indian-controlled Kashmir.

” I think the IAEA ( International Atomic Energy Agency ) should be in charge of bringing Pakistan’s nuclear arms under its control,” Singh said.

Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s foreign minister, said the IAEA should instead look into “repeated fraud and illegal trafficking incidents involving atomic and nuclear material in India.”

These instances also point out the existence of a black market for delicate, dual-use components inside of India, he continued.

However, on Thursday, Dar revealed that there had been “military to martial communications” and that both parties had agreed to extend a peace until Sunday, May 18; both parties had agreed to do so.
