Lee MAI: People living along the river in Chiang Mai are being&nbsp, strongly advised to shift their belongings, including vehicles, to higher ground as the Ping RIver is rising rapidly and expected to&nbsp, overflow into the capital on Tuesday night.

The imminent-flood warning was issued by Chiang Mai Municipality.

The Ping ocean level may approach its critical place as early as 5 p.m. The provincial company said that Tambon Nong Hoi and Tambon Pa Dat were most vulnerable because of the lower landscape, which makes them prone to flooding.

The creek, which passes through the town, was 3.35 feet deep at Nawarat Bridge at 10am, had risen another 10 centimetres by lunchtime and was continuing to rise quickly. According to the caution, it could be as high as 3.70 meters before it reached the issue point at 5 o’clock.

The city is livestreaming the Ping River at the gate on its Twitter account, along with the concept:” People should be prepared”.

Some roads in the city were now flooded on Tuesday, but transportation was intact. ( continues below )

After heavy rainfall soaked the inland towns of Chiang Dao, Mae Taeng, and Mae Rim on Monday evening, Kuakul Manasamphansakul, the municipal water captain, reported that a significant amount of water was on its way to Chiang Mai. More rainfall was forecast for Tuesday.

Mae Rim reported the heaviest snowfall in the North on Monday night, according to the Northern Meteorological Centre.

80 % of the northern region may be covered by rains brought by a low pressure system from Vietnam, according to meteorologist Thapana Junkun, primarily in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Mae Hong Son. ” People may be wary of flash floods and discharge. People may push carefully”, he said.

Assanee Buranuprakorn, president of Chiang Mai, claimed that the tracking facility close to Nawarat Bridge was being run around the clock. To create barriers against the ocean, bags were being distributed to places that were anticipated to flood when the river overflows.
