The Phuket Provincial Administrative Company (PAO) plans to take a position 250 million baht to build a skywalk as a tourist milestone.
The Phuket PAO plus Rawai municipality held a public hearing on Tuesday to advertise the project amongst residents.
PAO president Rawat Areerob said two locations are being scouted. One is on a hill-side in Khao Daeng in Rawai, at the southern tip from the island. The other is near Surin beach in Thalang, for the west coast.
The PAO hired Core Technology Consultants to design the skywalk. It will seek permission to use the particular land from Phuket’s governor and the Regal Forest Department next month, said Mr Rawat.
”We expect to spend 250 million baht around the project. The skywalk will attract more tourists to our holiday resort island, ” he said.
Nutthachat Huengwattanakul, the project manager on Core Technology Professionals, said the company will give you three designs.
The first depends on Sino-Portuguese structures, the second will show Phuket as a “pearl of the Andaman”, and the last will focus on presenting the tropical isle as a “gateway” to the Andaman.
