” I was really very quiet. Only that he gained a little bit of momentum after a dozen items, Loh said.
” And then there was this taping scenario, and it just got harder to enjoy. Because I was n’t used to it, it had a significant impact on the first set.
The heavy bandage do affect Loh’s hold and the first game in particular. ” The feel is very different, I could n’t grip my racquet properly”, he added.
Before a string of errors from Loh would give the program to the Dane, things were far tighter in the second, with the score at 14-14.
” I feel rushed because I was only focusing on each level,” he said. And I was n’t as patient as before probably”, the Singaporean said.
Loh responded, “yes but no,” when asked if he was pleased with his performance at the Olympics.
” I’m happy with how far I reached ( in this tournament ), but… it’s also quite heart-breaking, it’s quite sad that I did n’t go further than this”, said the Singaporean.
” Especially in the first game today, I could n’t perform very well. I had hoped for a better performance.
Loh was the first Singaporean to achieve the Olympics ‘ quarter-finals in 20 years. Men’s singles person Ronald Susilo had recently reached the quarter-finals of the opposition in 2004 before being eliminated.
Loh’s work at the Games is more than enough reason to laugh, despite the pain of battle lingering on him.
The original world hero made his Olympic debut at the final round of the competition in Tokyo, where he was eliminated in the group stage.
” At the previously Olympics when I lost I was very, very sad”, he called. ” That was much weirder. This time around, I had a good move and I’m quite okay”.
