On Tuesday night, regional authorities detained 272 illegal workers from Myanmar and raided a building camp in the Ayutthaya province’s Uthai district.
Around 6am on Tuesday, Uthai city workplace and Ayutthaya municipal house gathered at a construction site in Nong Namsom.
They detained 272 Myanmar immigrants, men and women, who had all entered the country improperly, according to the Uthai city department.  ,
A gentleman from Myanmar claimed to have illegally entered the Mae Sot city of Tak along with about 300 other people who had been there. They each had to pay employment brokers around 20 000 baht in travel costs as well as other costs to get them work on the construction site.  ,
As workers they were paid 500 ringgit a day. Experienced staff received 600 bass a moment, he said.
He and other imprisoned workers claimed that they had no choice but to operate in Thailand because of the civil war in Myanmar.
Supakorn Anantharak, a top statewide standard, said it was the next day this tent had been raided for illegal workers. The first was two years ago.
He claimed that all illegal migrants may be detained and returned to Myanmar.
