Before the end of this month, Hua Hin’s regional authorities intend to sterilize 300 monkeys in an effort to manage the people and prevent negative effects on nearby areas.
According to Bussaba Chokesuchart, deputy governor of the beach area in Prachuap Khiri Khan, the town has budgeted 580,000 baht for the sterilisation program that will target 300 monkeys who live close to Hin Lek Fai and Hua Hin golf course. & nbsp,
The Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation( DNP ) will run the program through September 24 with Wat Bussayabanphot acting as the administrative hub.
According to Ms. Bussaba, approximately 100 monkeys were captured over the course of the previous year, and many of them had already been put to death. Then, the DNP group is anticipated to go after monkeys that live close to Khao Takiab, a well-liked tourist destination in the town’s south.
The sterilization program, according to Ms. Bussaba, was initially started in 2017 to decrease the number of monkeys and lessen their detrimental effects on locals, visitors, and people.
She claimed that since the program began, dozens of primates have been put to death. She continued,” It is thought to be the most efficient way to guarantee that locals will be able to live peacefully with the creatures.”
