A group of protesters will write to the government to denounce its alleged treatment of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra at Police General Hospital ( PGH) last year.
He was supposed to be serving a jail word for abuse of power, but he was otherwise permitted to remain in the hospital, according to ex-red top head Jatuporn Prompan.
Mr. Jatuporn stated in a live stream on Twitter that the group will travel to Government House on January 21 to match the prime minister in her capacity as Royal Thai Police supervisor.
According to him,” Those in charge may be held responsible if it is proven that they assisted Thaksin avoids prison,” he said, referring to the NACC’s choice to look into officers who were accused of allowing Thaksin to stay in the hospital rather than be imprisoned.
The NACC’s inquiry targets 12 officials from the Department of Corrections ( DoC ) and PGH, not government politicians.
The Ethics of Physicians Who Were Consulted has also been the subject of a spacecraft launched by the Medical Council of Thailand (MCT).
The MCT has requested that the PGH provide information regarding Thaksin’s extended remain as part of an honest research that was being conducted by a subcommittee led by Amorn Leelarasamee and looking into claims that Thaksin received favorable treatment.
The sub-committee has demanded full details of Thaksin’s registration, diagnosis and treatment, as well as the labels of all the doctors who treated him.
It has also requested files of all communications pertaining to Thaksin’s move from the DoC clinic to the PGH, files of procedure, details of drugs prescribed, X-rays and laboratory test results be delivered to the sub-committee by Wednesday. It is questionable how much information will be transmitted, given individual privacy concerns.
Mr. Jatuporn predicted that the MCT’s investigation would be finished as soon as it learned the details. He added that he hoped that the results of the MCT’s social investigation will provide proof to support the NACC’s investigation.
Thaksin spent about six months in a hospital on the 14th surface of the medical after receiving an eight-year prison sentence for three cases before a royal clemency reduced the sentence to a year.
The previous prime minister’s one-year prison term was officially overturned on August 31 and he was granted parole and released from the PGH on February 18.
