Agnes Chow, a pro-democracy advocate from the Hong Kong, has declared that if given the go-ahead to study in Canada, she will postpone her arrest.

Ms. Chow was released in 2021 after serving a prison sentence in 2020 for participating in the anti-government demonstrations of 2019.

She is still being looked into for” cooperation with foreign troops to jeopardize federal security.”

She remarked,” Perhaps I wo n’t go back to the Hong Kong for the rest of my life.”

Ms. Chow revealed that she had been accepted into a Toronto school earlier this year in an online article made on Sunday to commemorate her 27th birthday.

She had no right to decline the police-escorted journey she had to take with five police officials to mainland China in August in order to get her card again.

She wrote,” I felt like I was being watched the entire day.”

She claimed that she was asked to pose for pictures at the office of the tech company Tencent as well as an exhibition of China’s accomplishments since the reform and opening up of that country in the late 1970s.

She wrote,” If I remain passive, those images may one day serve as proof of my “patriotism”- that fear is but palpable.

Ms. Chow claimed that in order to learn about” the motherland’s fantastic developments,” she was also instructed to sign letters expressing regret for all of her previous social activities and to express gratitude to the police for planning the trip.

Ms. Chow was anticipated to report to the police once more later this month because she is still being looked into in relation to Jimmy Lai’s trial, a pro-democracy press billionaire, on charges of” cooperation with foreign causes” to jeopardize Chinese national security.

She has n’t been charged yet.

She claimed that she made her choice after taking into account” the Hong Kong’s circumstance, my personal security, and my physical and mental health.”

Regarding Ms. Chow’s allegations, the the Hong Kong authorities have not yet provided any comment.

Ms. Chow was one of the most well-known figures in the city’s pro-democracy movement, and she was also given the moniker” the actual Mulan” to honor the legendary Chinese lady who fought for her family and nation.

She was included on the BBC 100 Women record in 2020, which honors and inspires 100 powerful and inspirational women worldwide each year.

Since anti-government protests in the Hong Kong began in 2019, which culminated in the implementation of the national protection laws in 2020, officials have retaliated against pro-democracy protesters there.
