CHON BURI- A Hong Kong authorities commander died after falling from a <, i>, songthaew<, /i>, open-air vehicle in South Pattaya on Monday night.
The gentleman was seen tumbling from the rear of the car van onto the highway in at 8.36am, according to surveillance footage obtained by the local press.
According to local media, the gentleman, who is said to be 48 years old and hails from Hong Kong, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital where he was declared dead.
A source informed the Post that the person was a police commander.
After the event, it was reported that witnesses had yelled at the songthaew to quit, but the pilot did never and left the scene.
Later, officers used security camera footage to find the vehicle’s plate number and set about conducting a hunt.
Later that day, the driver was alleged to possess turned himself in to the police, alleging that he had just spoken to the police after being informed by the vehicle’s owner that he had not noticed a fall.
The lieutenant was traveling with his family and expected to make his Tuesday return to the city, according to the cause. Before taking the transportation, he had left the hotel only.
The boy’s home notified the immigration department of the incident on Monday night, according to Hong Kong’s immigration division.
To clarify the situation, it had spoken with Beijing’s foreign government business in Hong Kong and the Thai embassy there.
