Hong Kong Film Awards: Donnie Yen-starrer Raging Fire wins best film, Anita Mui biopic bags most awards

The film that will took home one of the most awards for the night was Anita, a biographical drama film about Mui.

Anita, which was the highest-grossing Hong Kong film in 2021, bagged a total of five awards for optimum Costume and Design, Best Visual Effects as well as Best Sound Design.

The film topped this office in Hong Kong upon release, ultimately grossing US$18. five million (S$25. eight million) in total package office sales. It topped the Hong Kong box office upon debut, grossing some 61 million Hk dollars (US$7. eight million) in about seven weeks.

Anita also gained more than 10 mil yuan (S$2 million) on its opening day at the Chinese box office.

Louise Wong, who played Mui in the film, won Best New Performer.

“Honestly, it was not a day (or) right away that I could perform the role Anita, ” said Wong. “I’m grateful for the team’s support plus encouragement. ”

“They helped me slowly understand Anita and the role, ” the girl said. “I’m quite grateful that I could experience her lifestyle. ”

Malaysian actor Fish Liew, who played Mui’s sister Ann Mui, won Best Helping Actress.
