The Thai-Chinese high-speed rail project between Saraburi and Kaeng Khoi has been given a 201-day extension by the Board of the State Railway of Thailand ( SRT), citing structural constraints, including the need to obtain land use permits from the Royal Irrigation Department.

Veeris Ammarapala, the SRT board’s government, announced the extension of the lease time for the partnership between the Thai and Chinese institutions ‘ Bangkok and Nong Khai.

The design of the Saraburi-Kaeng Khoi area, which will now be extended by 201 time, will now be subject to the extension, which will change the completion date from June 7 to December 25.

The companies will not be reimbursed for this occasion improvement and there will be no additional expenses for the SRT. The program will also be adjusted to coincide with the contract extension.

According to Mr. Veeris, the delay was brought on by fundamental constraints, including the need for the Royal Irrigation Department to approve land use.

He confirmed, however, that the SRT will speed the work so that it will be finished within the revised time frame and that it has delivered the company 100 % of the property.

The Saraburi-Kaeng Khoi area, which is 12.99 kilometers long, is estimated to be worth 8.56 billion ringgit. Building began on Feb 19, 2021.

Also, the SRT table has made a proposal to the cabinet for the building of six railway crossing bridges in the province of Nakhon Ratchasima. The overall budget for the project is 797.29 million baht.
