Helicopter crash: All six victims rescued, taken to hospital

CAMERON HIGHLANDS: The first victim from the helicopter crash in Brinchang has been taken to a hospital here.

The victim, who is also the pilot, was brought out of the crash site to a vegetable farm for initial treatment before an ambulance took him to the nearby Hospital Sultanah Hajah Kalsom at about 5.30pm here on Wednesday (Oct 26).

A second victim, a doctor, was brought out of the crash site and she was seen able to walk unaided.

A third victim was brought out from the crash site shorty after.

Rescue efforts are being made to bring other victims down.

It is learnt that the the helicopter was ferrying staff members from the Kinta district health office.

As at 7pm, three victims are still at the crash site.

Heavy rain continues to fall and the sky is darkening as night approaches.
