Goh’s invention uses the size ( cross-section area ) of the breasts to determine the appropriate force needed to get a clear image while minimising discomfort as much as possible by tapping into LiDAR ( Light Detection and Ranging ).
With the innovation, Goh became the nation’s monthly James Dyson Award winner, which also includes a S$ 8,400 give to further develop his project.
The James Dyson Award is an international style innovation competition for new and existing university students studying engineering, product design, and professional design. Designers must produce products that are both technically and commercially viable and follow simple engineering principles.
Goh may advance to global competition, where the winner will be revealed in November.
AN ACCIDENTAL Identification
Mammograms are unlikely to ever cross the heads of the majority of younger people. Goh was no unique.
In mid-2023, Goh was unaware of the issue until a chance conversation with Dr. Serene Goh, an interact expert at NUH and a friend of Goh’s style leader.
